My granddaughter turned 4 in March. She really likes the Jake the Pirate cartoon character. I couldn't find any Jake the Pirate fabric but my sister in Tennessee did. Here's the quilt she made for Gale.
The quilt label, which you can just see in the corner on the back, is a photo of Gale wearing her pirate costume on Halloween. My sister printed it from her computer.
When the parcel was opened, Gale said it was her new best birthday present!
Sisters are truly wonderful and I miss my sister very much. She was almost 12 years older than me and passed away when she was not yet 52. She was perceptive this way too and would give the most thoughtful gifts to my girls when she was living. I don't know a child, boy or girl, out there who doesn't love Jake and the Neverland Pirates. My grandchildren(5 of them) certainly did. I took care of them after I stopped working, until the youngest started K-5, so I can truly attest to that. The quilt your sister made is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYou're lucky to have such a sweet sister! I'm an 'only', so don't know what it's like to have a sibling.
ReplyDeleteYes, sisters are the best! What a great quilt!
ReplyDeleteWhat a special gift as I am sure that quilt will be cherished and will be full of memories.
