Lots of Glitter!!

I made a few embellished Card Cases for the Craft Nova Scotia Christmas Craft Show which occurred this past weekend. Lots of glitter in this pile. I love using Sulky Sliver Opalescence thread for top stitching these cases. This thread colour reflects the colour of whatever it's stitched on.

I had 16 different cases (not all shown here) ready for the show. Only three are left! I'm making a few more for the Dalplex Christmas Show this coming weekend.

One lady visited my booth on Saturday and got very excited! 'I'm finally meeting you', she said as she rummaged in her purse and took out one of my card cases which she had purchased at the NL Craft Council Gift Shop, six years ago. It was stuffed with cards and still in great shape! WOW!!! Thanks to my customers for purchasing glittery card cases!

Craft Nova Scotia Christmas Show

It was a great weekend in spite of the snowy start on Friday. We live over an hour from Halifax on the South Shore of NS, at Pine Grove (minutes from Bridgewater). My husband and I left home at 7:15 am. The snow had just started! We arrived at the Cunard Center, at Pier 23, Halifax Waterfront, at 10:30 am. Late, late, late, BUT we got there in one piece! Luckily, I had my snow tires installed the week before or we would never have made it.

Here are a few photos taken of my booth. You will note that I did move a few things around.

This was my first time at this show and I have to thank all those who visited my booth, to those who commented on my art work and to those who made purchases.

You wouldn't believe the number of Newfoundlanders I met too!

A Visit From Wesley Harris

Look who came to visit me at Craft Nova Scotia Christmas Craft Show yesterday, Wesley Harris, a Corner Brook metal smith. Wesley has his work featured at the Mary E. Black Gallery, Halifax, NS. This show, Mentor and Metalsmith, The Silver Art of Arthur Breckenridge & Wesley Harris, is a must see event.
I've known Wesley for many years in Newfoundland. We have been neighbors at the Christmas Craft Show, Craft Council of NL, on several occasions. If you are in Halifax, the show is on from November 9 - December 21, 2018. This is on my to do list.  Please check out Wesley's art HERE.

We Remember

A day to remember.
These poppies grew in my Newfoundland garden. They originally came from my mother's garden. Poppies and Forget-Me-Nots (those tiny blue flowers in the lower right of the poppy) were among the flowers she planted.

Her brother, Charlie Emberley, served in WWll and survived. These are for him and for all of those who fought in wars to keep us free.

A Forget-Me-Not Shimmer was created at the request of The Rooms in St. John's, NL to commemorate the Battle of Beaumont Hammel, July 1, 1916.
