The bright bits are pieces of bonded Angelina Fibres leftover from stitching out Shimmer Ornaments. Nothing goes to waste!

Work in Progress - Continued
I finished adding decorative threads, yarns and slivers of fabric to the unfinished piece I showed you yesterday. To keep everything in place, navy tulle was put over the whole thing and then free-motion stitched with Sulky Sliver thread. This thread adds more glitter. Now the fantasy fabric is ready to use in a project.
I also did some stitching to the felted piece. However, that one isn't finished yet.

Mo'Man
NO, I didn't misspell the title! My little granddaughter can say 'snow' and 'man' but when she puts them together, it turns out mo'man. She is totally into the snow thing so I decided to make one for her.
I sketched out several images and decided on a front facing one. The black hat is cut from a piece of my 'fantastic' fabric. I used a black base and layered it with different yarns and fibres. Then it was stitched with black Sulky Sliver thread. I also used white felt and scraps of batiks.
Enjoy the links to other snowmen!

| Old stash of Angelina fibers |
I use snippets of the film with the fibers. I will take a piece of the film, scrunch it in my hand, smooth it out again (leaving lovely lines) and then cut it up to use with the fibers. Using a rotary cutter with decorative blades also gives a neat look to the fusible film. I tried to use a pair of fancy paper scissors (generally used for scrap booking) but they didn't work at all. They were just cheap paper ones. The more expensive ones probably work fine.

Canada's Search Engine
I'm now listed on Canada's search engine, Canadae.ca. Just click on arts. This site has lots of blogs from across Canada. In fact, I found it by accident last week and haven't really searched through it yet. I'm always trying to find things that are Canadian whether it's a list of shops or textile / fibre artists. I'm interested in finding more Canadian sites related to textiles.

Fibre Lace Scarves

Since the weather wasn't great, I spent the whole day in my studio. I finished the Christmas tree felted art cards and started two more fibre lace scarves. The one in the photo was done awhile ago. As you can see, this one is reversible. I like to use lots of different yarns in each scarf so whenever I travel, I search for unusual yarns and fibres. One of the places I frequent is Romni Wools in downtown Toronto. What a fabulous place for yarns and fibers! Yarns with lots of glitz and glitter usually catch my attention. Locally, Wool Trends has a nice variety of yarns.

Machine Felting
I spent the afternoon experimenting with my felting machine. The Fine Craft & Design Fair is in two weeks and I decided to create some Christmas Tree art cards. The first thing was to make a base fabric. I started with green craft felt and laid lots of decorative yarns across horizontally. These were then attached to the base by needle felting with the machine.
I made a triangle template to use as a guide to cut my trees from the needle felted fabric.
