Never a Dull Moment!

My sister just told me I haven't posted in a week! So, for some news!!

We now have a house in Nova Scotia and we are hoping to be moved in by mid September. One large U-Haul truck load of 'stuff' has already reached its destination. Most of my 'crafty' things were included. Our granddaughter has already asked which bedroom is hers - sleepovers in our future!

My plane ticket to the Espanola Fibre Arts Festival in mid October, has been purchased. A couple of years ago, I was invited to teach needle felting, specifically, how to make my Fibre Art Pendants. Now I have to finish up some things for that and prepare a kit of goodies.

The purple mitts I started are almost finished - a thumb and a half left to go. Packing, painting and hanging out with family were priorities this past couple of weeks. Knitting was on the back burner.

I did manage to find a few links to check:
Enjoy!

Clematis

It was a very hot day. The second one in a row with above average temperatures. In fact, the evening is still quite warm. My flowers are doing well even though they have been rather neglected this summer. Isn't this clematis just gorgeous! The colour is so vibrant.

Mittens!

I'm still around but things are hectic with the move in a few weeks and I also have family here! My sister has been a great help (thank-you Joan). More family to arrive this weekend. It will be fun having a 16 month old toddler around (Joan's granddaughter from Texas) for a few days.

I have one mitt done except the thumb and the cuff of the second. It's 'The Yarns of Richard Devrieze' and is 100% merino, worsted weight, superwash. Very soft!! Finding time is the problem. By after supper, I'm too tired to pick up any needles.
Enjoy!!

Flew the Coop

We had a family of 5 baby birds nesting in the garden just under the overhang of a raised flowerbed. The mama bird was very wary of any one out in the garden and would twitter her displeasure! Today, they flew the coop! For awhile we didn't see them hiding in the flowers. All of a sudden, each one tried to fly up to the next flower bed. A couple had to make several attempts before they got the hang of flying. It was amazing to watch these tiny things take off with the mama bird.

Enjoy!

Anniversary Quilt

Our 50th anniversary was in June. Joan, my sister, brought her gift to us this week. Of course, it's a queen size quilt. She knows I'm not much into hearts but she said these were not hearts (ya, right) but stylized J and L for our names. The white background has gold on it to represent the 50 years. The letters and numbers on the back are pieced. The 150 is for Canada's birthday.

It's a beautiful quilt, Joan. Much appreciated by both of us. Thanks!

My Life in Boxes

My studio is totally dismantled. My life is in boxes! The move to Nova Scotia is very real. Yes, we bought a house just minutes from Bridgewater in Pine Grove. Over an acre of beautiful, quiet country living, no busy traffic, no flight path of planes going to the airport . . .!

So my hands on creativity is on hold until the move.

However, I can still roam the net and find interesting sites to visit!
Enjoy!
