Day 1, 2021

Our granddaughter did stay up with us to welcome the New Year! We watched a movie and had snacks. She was very pleased with herself.

Today the sun was out, a ham was baked, vegetables cooked and ready for company. It was a good day.

Tonight, I finished up a Christmas puzzle that my sister gave me last year. Physical size wise, it's the biggest I've ever put together. I have no plans to do any more this winter as I want to concentrate more on hand embroidery in the evenings.

Enjoy!

Happy New Year!!

Isn't it wonderful to finally say good by to 2020! Needless to say, it was one of a kind. We are celebrating with our granddaughter tonight. She is determined to stay awake until midnight. We will see!!!

Shaun the Sheep is sooooo glad the new year is almost here.  He, too, is one of a kind, but in a good way.

Thank you for following my blog posts. You will see a new website in the near future and I will be doing my posts from there with a link to all previous posts. Happy New Year! I wish you health, happiness and hopefully, time with family and friends. Stay safe in 2021!

Happy New Year

This has been a very busy year. Not so much with my art and business ventures but with house renovations, packing up the house and moving to Nova Scotia in October. Our house in NL sold in November and closed just before Christmas so that was one of the best gifts we could have received. Since the move, I have visited Espanola, Ontario and taught there at the Fibre Art Festival. Of course, the very best thing, we get to see our family all the time, as they are just a 10 minute car ride away!

I managed to get to a few stitch days during the year with friends but not as many as I wished.
Thanks for your friendship as it means a lot. Thank you for following my blog posts and to those who leave comments. I may not respond to all of them but they are read and appreciated.

My main goal for the new year is to have a fully functional studio where I can create new fibre art. I have some new yarns and I'm just itching to try them out!

I wish you health, happiness, time with family and friends, and lots of fun in 2018!

From my house to yours:

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year

This has been a very busy year with my art / business ventures. Lots of new Shimmer Ornaments, Needle Felted ornaments and Fibre Art Pendants were created, a few UFO's were completed and renos on the house are in progress! The days I managed to stitch with friends were indeed precious. Thanks for your friendship.

Our daughter and family made a big move from Chicago to Bridgewater, Nova Scotia in May.

Cookies for my granddaughter, who arrives with her mom & dad tomorrow morning! What a great way to welcome the New Year!!

2017? Who knows what the new year will bring but it will be another interesting adventure.

Thank you for following my blog posts and to those who leave comments. I may not respond to all of them but they are read and appreciated. Happy New Year! I wish you health, happiness, time with family and friends, and lots of fun in 2017!

Happy New Year!!

I would like to extend to everyone, well wishes for the New Year! Thank you for visiting my blog. You are treasured souls and you are much appreciated. I try to respond to all comments. If, however, you did not receive one, check on the blog. I often write a note or two there.

For 2015, my goal was to write a post on my blog every day. Well, I did that. YAH!!!

For 2016, I would like to spend a little more time experimenting in my studio. I won't be writing every day either. There is only so much time in a day and we are in the process of renovating the house. I have become  # 1 gopher, soon to be trim painter, organizer of 'stuff' (which means getting rid of . . ) etc. etc. etc. So on that note, I wish you health, happiness, time with family, and lots of fun in 2016!!

Happy New Year everyone!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to everyone visiting today!

Do you have any plans made for you next quilting, sewing, embroidery, or felting project?

If you don't, you might find something from The Sewing Loft. Grab a cup of something as there's lots to see.

Enjoy!!

Out with the Old!

It's hard to believe this is the last day of 2014! I don't have any New Year's Resolutions other than to try and slow down! I've been told many times that I work too hard and for too long.

I have enjoyed posting to my blog and reading your comments. Thanks to everyone who has dropped by; who left comments; who joined my members list or bloglovin; and who signed up to get emails whenever I posted.

I was reading a few blogs this morning and came across a motto from Wild Olive that I think I will TRY to apply to myself:

Do What You Can Do!

Until next year . . .

Happy New Year!

I just finished watching the video of Dubai's World Record Breaking Fireworks. Wow!! With a bit of imagination, one could make some creative thread paintings with fireworks, as the theme.

Here are some interesting fireworks interpreted onto fabric. It might be interesting to try some.
Enjoy!

Happy New Year's Eve!

What a difference a year makes! Last December was a mild one with very little snow. In fact, we had a green Christmas. This year, winter started very early with piles of snow and very cold temperatures. The thermometer below shows one of the very few days that was above freezing.

I am looking forward to 2014 and all that it will bring.  Last March, I decided to go wholesale with some of my small production art work (Shimmer Ornaments, Wearable Art Pins, Art Cards, Felted Ornaments and Greeting Cards). It was a big step for me to take as I had been resisting it for many years. However, it has opened up other opportunities. I was invited to the Atlantic Trade Show (ACTS) in Halifax so I will be going there the end of January. Then, the local wholesale show is in March.

Production work is taking up much of my time at the moment but I'm hoping to set aside some time to experiment with more surface embellishments. I have some copper wire that I want to play with as well as a small gel printing plate for fabric printing. My yarn stash is overflowing and my wool roving needs attention. I have a few new toys to play with in my studio! Who knows where all that will lead.

Thank you for following my blog posts and to those who leave comments. I may not respond to all of them but they are read and appreciated. Happy New Year! I wish you health, happiness, time with family, and lots of fun in 2014!!!

Enjoy!

Happy New Year!!

It's 1C, sunny and windy outside but warm and toasty in my room! At the moment my studio resembles a space that has been neglected with things on every surface. That's what happens when I'm in clean up mode. I want a fresh, clean space but that means getting rid of 'stuff' and most of my 'stuff' is useful. Whenever I give something away or just toss it, the next week or so I find a use for it. This time, my basement will receive a few more things.

I'm looking forward to 2013. One of my goals is to spend more time with family (especially those in Chicago) and with my friends. Workwise - to experiment with new techniques and apply them to my art and to work on larger pieces.

In the meantime, check these out!
