More Quilts from Gertie Little

Here are more original quilted wall hanging designs by Gertie Little. This time, it's flowers found in Newfoundland. Most of her wall hangings have 3-dimensional aspects to them. She told me the other evening that years ago when she visited my studio, she was inspired by a 3-D wall hanging I had done and wanted to try her hand at that sort of work. Well, she certainly took the 'bull by the horns' and got at it!  Gertie has also started a small line of patterns for some of her applique designs.

The first flower is called Fernald's Braya. The only place this particular flower grows is on the Great Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland. The next one shows Partridge Berries or Lingonberry. These berries make the best jam ever and is my favourite for jam. Next is the yellow Lady's Slipper, (I don't remember the next one), then Gentiana, Sunflowers, and Blueberry.
Enjoy!
