Happy Canadian Thanksgiving

 Happy Thanksgiving Weekend Canada! 

Wishing all my relatives and friends near and far, a very happy, safe Thanksgiving Weekend. 

In honour of this special holiday, I have the perfect autumn quilt, which was made by my sister, Joan, in Tennessee. She made it and hand delivered it in 2018, for my July birthday. 

This photo was taken today where the temperature reached 22C. I was lucky to get the full view of the quilt as it was a bit breezy. The wind reminded me of home in Newfoundland where it's windy most of the time!

The back fabric is all birch trees.

My back garden is displaying its gorgeous autumn colours, most of which, are in this quilt.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my family and friends!

These pumpkins were grown locally. It's great to see such fun stuff at the local nursery and bakery.

Happy Thanksgiving to my family and friends, near and far. We just got home last Tuesday afternoon after 4 1/2 months, so needless to say, it has been a very busy week.

I'm getting ready for the Craft Council Christmas Craft Fair in early November and the Anna Templeton Center Christmas Tea and Sale in December.

New Shimmer Ornaments and Needle Felted Wearable Art Pins are in progress. Photos will be posted soon.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American relatives, friends and visitors to my blog! Today we are having a glorious, sunny day in St. John's. There was a sprinkle of snow last evening but the sun is quickly taking care of that (thank goodness as I'm not ready for that).

For those of you who are unfamiliar with this area of the country, the wind rarely rests. Newfoundland is a very large island in the middle of the North Atlantic so we are affected by the ocean currents.  I hope you are having a fabulous time with family and friends. Pumpkin Tutorial - crazy quilting

Happy Thanksgiving to our American friends! I just found this neat site, The Painted Quilt by Kaaren Johnson. One of the first things that caught my eye was the crazy quilted 3-D pumpkin. Other tutorials include a  sewing box and tomato pincushion. On the first Friday of each month there is a free pattern for you to use. Lots of stuff to check out.
