TGIF - the 13th!

Friday the 13th! Anyone superstitious?  It rained here most of the day and the only thing I was concerned about was maybe slipping on some of the ice that remained. I didn't give a thought to anything related to the 13th.

I've found another Blog Hop that started January 9 so you already have a couple of days to check.  This one is New Beginnings by Island Batik. It's interesting to see what other quilters create using specific fabrics and colour themes.

Regarding my studio work: not much happened today. I stitched out 80 Viking Ship Shimmers this week as I have a couple of orders for the spring tourist seasons. It's great when I get early requests for things. Today I managed to stitch out some dory's.  These are larger than my previous ones. I will post a photo when they are ready.

Time to do some free style stitching!

Thank You and Other Stuff!

I'm overwhelmed by the number of views my posts are generating lately. Thanks so much! It's much appreciated.

I'm having a stay at home day (in the motor home that is). My granddaughter, Gale, is a bit under the weather and just wants to lie around but I'll bet she'll be at my side when I take out some stitching. A couple days ago she asked to work on her rainbow stitching. This project was her own idea. The rainbow is straight not curved as she told me it was her own 'design'. Yes, she used that word! She also has a specific order for the colours. Her other comment, 'Grandma, isn't this so relaxing!' Her mom said that she likes the process of creating. In any case, she likes all things related to fibre and textiles.

I will show you her work when it's finished. Bet you can't guess I'm a proud grandma (GRIN)!

It's Almost Christmas

It's almost here! 

Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. I love the glittery decorations, decorating the tree, making and purchasing gifts, baking and spending time with family and friends. Most of my baking is done and gifts are wrapped and sent away and the others are under the tree.

Do you have all your gifts finished and wrapped? Or do you put things off to the last moment? In any case, you have one day left to get it all done.So why don't you take a few minutes to relax and have a look at some 'stuff' to ponder for your next project.

This & That!

I just took a dark fruitcake out of the oven - Yummy! The house smells soooo nice. And the coloured lights are on the tree. Things are good.

A Work Day

This was a work day! The two embroidery machines were busy all day stitching out snowflake shimmers. I believe there are over 50 of them cut out and ready to be finished. I sold out of these at the craft fair.

I also took a few credit card holders to the Christmas Craft Fair and most of them were sold. Several customers asked if I would have more for the December fair, so below are the results of today's free-motion stitching with Sulky Sliver Thread on embellished fabric (several more to do tomorrow). These pieces of fantasy fabric will be made into business / credit card holders. See some finished ones, from a previous post, HERE.
