Three-D Thread Applique

I found this needle painted chickadee tucked away in a box with some other UFO's. It is the result of a Three-D Thread Applique class that I took with Kathy Tidswell, Candian textile artist. Free motion embroidery was used to create this black capped chickadee. It turned out better than I remembered. Maybe I'll put it into something when I get some spare time.

Kathy creates marvelous thread paintings, quilts, wearable art and wall hangings. Pieces of her work have been juried into the Canadian Quilters' Association as well as in various other shows. To find out more about Kathy and her work, click on the link above.

  1. awwwww - so cute! Chickadees are one of my favourite birds and I love watching them come to the feeder just outside my window.

  2. Yes, you have to do something with this. It's just to lovely to be left in a box.
