In September,I was asked to do a presentation on 'making clap board' from fabric, for the Eastern Edge Quilt Guild November program. Apparently many quilters have expressed an interest in adding buildings to their work and want to give it a try. So to get ready for this, as well as do an art piece for the Comfort and Joy Christmas show and sale at the Craft Council of NL, I bit the bullet and spent many hours creating 'clap board'! Check HERE for making the clapboard.
Enjoy!
All I can say is "Wow! What realism in fabric!
ReplyDeleteIt is a great compositional piece.
ReplyDeleteThat piece is incredible!
ReplyDeleteIt's so wonderful, just like a photograph. I think that you met that clapboard challenge head on.
ReplyDeleteWow! Judy! I thought you were showing us the photograph! Its wonderful! I sure hope you are putting out a book with your instructions!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the wonderful comments. I had some emails from friends and associates as well. They thought, at first glance, that it was a photograph instead of a textile piece.
ReplyDeleteNice job on the fishing complex! Strong design.
ReplyDeleteLovely art piece! So creative, but then Nfld has lots of inspiration. I am just back from a visit there with my daughter who lives in Bryant's Cove. Thanks also for the introduction to Korak.
