Snowlady With Birds

Here's another hand embroidery finish to add to the collection. It will eventually be a small quilted wall hanging. This time the carrot nose is orange, the holly berries are red and the snowflakes are silver. I'm calling it 'Red Work' with colour. If "Whitework with Colour' is accepted than so can this.

By they way, have you heard about Trish Burr's newest embroidery book, Whitework with Colour?
Mary Corbet has a fantastic review of this book on her blog. See it HERE.   PS: I broke down and pre-ordered it!

Enjoy!!

One More Day . . .

Another fabulous day at the Christmas Craft Fair! Tomorrow is the last day.

This year, I decided to display one of my larger pieces, View From The Rooms, to let customers know that I create more than Christmas items. Lots of great comments - several from other prominent Newfoundland artists. Needless to say, I was very pleased.

View From The Rooms

Thanks to everyone who stopped by my booth the last few days.

The snowflakes and felted mittens were very popular. I will have to make more of these for the Anna Templeton Tea & Sale next month.

Brrrrrr!!

Let's just say, until last night, we really didn't have any winter weather! Now we have piles of the white stuff. In fact, Environment Canada classified the weather as blizzard conditions. By the way, it's now raining outside - go figure. Here are a few ideas to keep you from getting too bored during those long winter evenings.
Enjoy!

Snow

Door Crown designed & created by Judy Cooper 1999

Apparently St. John's had 20cm of snow in just 6 hours! Wow! The hugh, fluffy snow flakes stuck to everything. By the time I cleaned my car off, I needed to do it all over again.

Here are some wintery quilted art pieces for your viewing pleasure:
