Happy St. Patrick's Day Weekend!!

A wee bit of green that my granddaughter, Gale, picked a couple summers ago here in Nova Scotia.
I hope your St. Patrick's Day weekend celebrations are fantastic!

My Brother embroidery machine is still waiting for a new motor. Needless to say, I'm not impressed with the company. This part has been on back order for quite awhile. The Janome embroidery machine is working well but is not as fast as the other one.

A few links to check:
Enjoy!!

Prep Work!

My go to machine for all my free-motion work is the Janome 1600P.  This is a straight stitch sewing machine designed for home use. It has all of the outward appearances of an industrial sewing machine… built in cone thread stands, heavy duty metal construction, and it is a single stitch only machine. A review of this machine can be found HERE

Today I got some fabrics ready to begin a few underwater embroideries. I love to use batiks for these as the colours are so vibrant. My stabilizer of choice is Sulky Totally Stable. You can see some of my green / blue / turquoise threads to the left.

Some machine stitching has been added to these. Now for some hand embroidery, and maybe a fish or two.

Enjoy!!

My Studio - Clean for a Day!!

Today I cleaned up my studio because yarn was everywhere! Believe it or not, I am organized. However, if I move something to a new location, I generally can't find it the next time I need it. So, nothing gets moved just tidied. Paints, dyes, stamps, and related supplies, as well as my stand alone embroidery machines, are downstairs. I have several steel shelves that hold all the supplies.

I didn't include photos of my Singer Serger, portable Janome and Janome Cover Stitch Machine. These I take out when needed.

All my supplies are stored in plastic containers to contain any possible scent that might be on them. Our house is as scent free as it can be due to health issues.

Have a look around my studio space:
