Jill Thirza Cooper - Artist

Today, I'm highlighting some of my daughter's paintings. Jill Thirza Cooper lives in Chicago, IL with her family. She has a framing shop and art gallery called Forte Framing and Gallery. Jill is a design professional with an undergraduate degree in computer science and environmental design and a graduate degree in Architecture.

She has painted the Chicago skyline in various sizes and different times of the day and night. This past week, she posted the one below, on Facebook, and it sold. This one has a very colourful sky - a happy piece!

The swimming woman is my favorite. I saw it when I was in Chicago in April.

Most recent and just sold as well as a print of it.

Forte Framing and Gallery

Forte Framing and Gallery now has a new web site. The original one has been totally redone! For those of you new to my blog, this framing shop in Chicago belongs to my daughter and husband. For those of you living in the Chicago area, please stop by and see the place. Some of my textile art is on display as well as some of my shimmers.

They also rent out their shop space for art shows and parties - the shop is very spacious and a fantastic place for a party!

Jill is working on some original art pieces just in time for Christmas. You can see her at work if you drop by.

Forte Framing and Gallery

My daughter, Jill and her husband, Jude, have just started a new business in Chicago, Forte Framing and Gallery. It is located at 2301 W North Ave in the neighborhood of Wicker Park. We were there for the official opening on July 2nd. We wish them well in their new venture. Their web site is under construction but the title page with loco is in place here. While visiting there this summer, I was amazed at some of the older buildings in Chicago as many of them have very decorative fronts like the one their business occupies. This one is art deco style. The front entrance to the shop is right on the corner.

If you look real close at the third picture, you will see a small sample of my art work, which is on display there for the summer. One of the things they hope to do besides framing pictures, is to promote artists and their work. So if you are in the area, please stop by and have a look at their gallery.
