VidCast with Elaine Quehl

Awhile ago, I took a workshop with Elaine Quehl from Ottawa. It was an interesting experience. Needless to say, my workshop piece is not finished. However, several of the participants made marvelous art quilts as you can see below.

This past November, while attending the International Quilt Show in Houston, Texas, Elaine was filmed in one of Bonnie McCaffery's VidCasts. You can see it here. It's well worth watching.

To view more VidCasts on Bonnie's website, check here.
Enjoy!

Quilt

One of my friends sent me this short video, titled Quilt. According to the information given, this short video 'uses computer and experimental techniques to illustrate traditional quilting motifs choreographed to music.' There is also a link after the video to an interview with film maker Gayle Thomas.

From traditional to contemporary, check out this video of the Door Challenge, by members of Journey Thru Art Group. Bonnie McCaffery talks to each quilter and looks at each door quilt. It's interesting to hear about the various surface techniques used. This video is worth a look.

Bonnie also did an interview with Gail Lawther on 'Glimpes of New Zealand'. Another inspiring bunch of art quilts!!

Enjoy!

Bonnie McCaffery's Vidcasts

I've been watching various vidcasts on Bonnie McCaffery's web site. They are worth watching! The 2009 International Quilts at Houston were spectacular.

I also watched Terry White demonstrate 'beading by machine'.Terry has a book out called Thread Painting Made Easy which can be seen on her web site. Also check out her YouTube Videos.

I have spent a good portion of the day on the web. Check out some of the blogs I've joined.
