Winner!!

Look what came for me in the mail from Cast On Cast Off, St. John's, NL. Cast On Cast Off  had a draw last month and my name was picked. How lucky!! Thanks bunches for picking me. The yarn is Bergy Blue Heritage 2ply from Briggs and Little. Of course, the knitting book, Saltwater Gifts by Christine LeGrow and Shirley A. Scott, is fabulous! It is filled with lots of colourful photos and easy to follow NL knitting patterns. A must have book for knitters.

Knitting Project

This winter, I have been knitting a sweater for my granddaughter. It was supposed to be for Christmas but with attending the different Christmas Craft Fairs, it had to be put aside. Well, it is finally finished! I will give it to her today. Yes, I'm in Chicago! And, attending the International Quilt Show. More about that later.

The wool is Bentley by Cascade Yarns. I opted to do a one button closure with a loop instead of the recommended zipper. The pattern is from Pick the Pieces by Lorna Miser.

Knitting Book

Today, I made a return visit to Elemental Yarns. It's quite close to Leisure Lake Resort where we are staying. My purchase today was a children's sweater knitting book: Pick the Pieces by Lorna Miser. It has sizes 6 mos. to 6 years. All 12 sweater patterns are very nice. I prefer some over others but that's my preference. I just may knit another sweater for my granddaughter on the way home.
