Second Finish

My studio has new curtains! A second finish for me in 2019!!!

I figured I'd buy curtains for the three windows. However, after bringing home three different sets to try, I decided to make some instead. Atlantic Fabrics, Bridgewater, had just what I needed. The fabric looks like linen and the colour works with my colour scheme.

A partial view of my studio. These windows face the front of the house.
Check these out:
Enjoy!!

Paper Piecing Canada's 150th!!!

Atlantic Fabrics was on my list of places to visit, which I did this morning. Gale and I had a grand time walking up and down the aisles checking everything out. She loves to feel soft things. Of course, she found the bolts of fleece and called me over to feel how soft they were.

While there, I purchased the pattern, Happy Birthday Canada 150 by Sugar Free Quilted Designs, Nova Scotia. I like the simplicity of this design and I have no idea when I'll make it. Thanks, Karen Chase, for this great design.

Recent Fabric Purchase

My latest fabric purchase was at Atlantic Fabrics in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The multi coloured piece is batik. I think it will make a couple of very nice Pisci Fantasticus.

The other pieces just caught my eye. I'm thinking mug rugs at the moment but who knows what they will be used in. The white with black lines reminds me of sashiko stitching.

Atlantic Fabrics, part two

Here's a few more photos from Atlantic Fabrics in Truro, NS. Trust me, there are lots of fabric bolts to choose from but my focus was Christmas in July and other theme displays.

Atlantic Fabrics, Truro, NS

On Monday, I visited Atlantic Fabrics, Truro, Nova Scotia. I must say, the staff was very friendly! Thanks for the interest you showed when I explained why I wanted to take photos around the shop! As you know, whenever I travel, I like to post about the shops I visit. This fabric shop is located in a very well lit building. That's important when you are shopping for fabrics and yarns. When you walk in the door, you feel welcome.

Christmas in July is the focus at the moment. They have several displays showing the newest Christmas prints, books and patterns. Summer and animal themes were also visible. The shop has everything you need to start a quilt, knit a sweater, embroider a cloth, make a bag . . .

Have a look around:  (I'll post a few more photos soon)
