Yarn Bombing?

When my sister sent me this link on Yarn Bombing, I thought 'What the heck is this all about?' According to Wikipedia it is a type of graffiti or street art that employs colorful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fibre rather than paint or chalk. Check the web site for more information about this.

Here's a couple of links with photos on Yarn Bombing:
Some knitters have a lot of time on their hands!!
Apparently the yarn shop where my sister shops (USA) is going to yarn bomb Market Street May 5th for two weeks. Maybe she'll take a few photos for me!!

  1. I was taken by an article in the Ottawa Citizen (March 10, 2012)about the yarn bomber(s) in Saltburn-by-the-Sea who recently decorated the pier with a 50 metre scarf complete with 3D olympic scenes. You need to see it to believe it! What a way to decorate your town.
